My name is Ray and I am a new member here. I just started throwing in May at the Victoria Highland Games after taking Ryan Vierra's Clinic. After that I
competed in the Coquitlam Games and the Kamloops Games. I now train throwing with Carl and the rest of the Victoria Crew. We usually make it out right now
about every second weekend and am told we will probally step that up to once a week closer to the season. This last weekend Victoria got some pretty unusual...

I'm not sure if anyone has ever experienced this but over this past winter I was enrolled in a program that specifically focused on using my own body
weight to get in shape. More specifically, it focused on core strength and explosive techniques. I never touched a plate or dumbbell all winter. Now last
season, my best heavy hammer was around 79 to 80 feet which is pretty good for an amature. This past weekend I was invited by Markus Wand to throw in Sudbury
for thier first Highland games....
