Now that things have died down somewhat and I've finally got all the equipment, hammer cage, standards, cabers, etc off the field I can now take a moment
to reflect on the games. There has been some fantastic feedback on the athletes and the show they put on. Everyone is happy, makes me happy. Now, outside of
the scores and recap I posted earlier there are some things I have to mention. It was great to have our cross border brethren join us both on the field and at

Great write up Dirk.
It was a great weekend in Perth-Andover. The competition was exicting to watch as well as take part in. Dirk looked after us 100%, the spectators were awesome
and the games very well run.
Altough I have a few sore muscles the worst are my abs from laughing at Mike Z's and Dirks stories Sat night.
Congratulations to everyone involved.

first of all, great to see everyone again, and the best place to start our maritime season is definately the Gathering of theScots, after 11-12 events in one
day and 3 scored cabers every other competition seems easy(er). seriously though it's always wonderful to make the trip to Perth Andover Dirk, Tina and the
GOS crew put on a wonderful event, and watching Dirk throw, answer 50 questions, make 200 descisions and come back and throw again. is also a site to see.

The Gathering of the Scots 2009 edition was a resounding success despite the weather!! The athletics venue was packed with talent for all the divisions.
There was a total of 40 athletes in the Amateur, Masters, Women, Junior, and Open divisions with representation from 5 provinces and 3 states. So it is safe
to say that even after the weather that was dumped on it last year the Gathering of the Scots is alive and well.
