Yes, this will be a heck of a show! Numerous guys with 20+ years as solid Pro competitiors, and a nice mix of newer Master Pros too (with, like, only 5-10
years experience

I hope taking part at Calgary this year have a fantastic time. Calgary's hospitality is second to none which should make for some happy throwers ready to
give it their all for the first ever ranking based Canadian Masters. I think the top five will be very tight!
Good luck to all! Jason |

Word is Dirk Bishop is leading after day 1 with Jamie Peppard in second. Apparently Dirk won the HW and both hammers, but I didn't hear anymore than that.
Day 2 brings only the caber and WOB.
Good luck to everyone. |

No, only one day. Overall it was Dirk, Jamie, and Berle. Jamie won OS and Caber. Dirk and Berle tied in WOB, and Dirk won all the other events.

I didn't catch the overall scoring, we finished later than everyone else.
I do know that the top four places were very close, with at least sport 2-4 coming down to the caber, which you have to think is pretty appropriate. I know I was 5th with Warren Trask right behind me, again coming down to the caber. I have a bunch of pictures, it will take a while to get them up. This was a stellar event; fun, well organized (4 trigs and 4 flights of athletes running simultaneously) and as said Calgary is a great place to throw- they LOVE the heavies. Serious kudos to Gord Walsh and the CUSGA folks who put this on.

Jason had it right when he said that Calgary's hospitality is second to none. All the athletes were treated to first class accommodations, food, libations
and a great venue to throw at. The weather was perfect, the field was manicured, and the athletes were primed. It was an honour to be on the field with the
country's best masters. The competition was fantastic and there were changes in placement after every round of every event. The event was run very well
and Gord deserves huge props for all he did behind the scenes as well as on the field in and out of the competition.
Some off field highlights for me - Going to the Liquor Box (too funny), seeing Joel Thiessen again, meeting his parents, free booze, proving my dominance in the pool, Banff Springs Hotel buffet, free booze, meeting Ingrid, kicking back with Berle and Peppard on Sunday night, seeing all the guys again. Class time in Cow Town. Dirk |
