Dear Heavies,
I have received concerned emails and noted some discrepancies of my own with regards to several sets of results. CSAF does in fact have an expectation that
results need to be generated from legitimate Games. We at one point in the past have interpreted that to be competitions in Piping, Dancing, Athletics and the
relevant cultural aspects to be the required elements. We would also expect at least 5 of the core events and normal rules to apply under the eye of an
accepted Judge. That said, in some cases one of these elements has not been part of longstanding, accepted Games and that is OK. But, backyard games and demos do not count!
(for example, NASGA has used a rule around $ to determine whether a Games is eligible for rankings towards Championship events)
To that effect, I would like to see the individuals who posted the following sets of results to provide the required due diligence, or I will be required to
remove them from the database effective September 20:
- Beaumont Games
- Wharf Rat Rally - http://www.wharfratrally.ca/events
- Caber results (There are results entered where the weights certainly appear to be estimated, not weighed. I know at leat one Games in Ontario for this to be fact)
The due diligence I would accept in these cases are documents, web-pages or emails (prize boards, letters of
invites, programs) that suggest a legitimate games has taken place, or the name of a Judge/AD that will certify these results as having been part of a
legitimate Games.
Sincerely,
CW
Christoph Wand - CSAF Secretary
