Ladies and Gentlemen, I'd like to introduce the first implement to come from Legendary Strength...
This is my design for an adjustable throwing weight for Highland Games heavy athletics. This weight design uses a plate loading system, that will replace virtually any weight from 14# up to 56# and even all the way up to 76#, (for overloading), if you buy additional large plates. The total length of the implement is under the legal 18" for weight for distance. And, if you bypass the chain to directly attach the handle to the eye, now you have a weight for over-bar. All the pieces to this throwing weight are high quality and built to last. The bolt used is a Grade 8 bolt, with over 17,000 lbs of shear capacity. And the eye-nut has 3,600 lbs vertical work load. You don't get the loose, rattling feeling of using some home-made throwing weights.
Now this wont meet the tight requirements of an official weight for competitions (yet), but for training you don't need it to. If you're someone who is new to the games, and just want something to train with, you don't want to put a lot of resources into equipment. You could spend over 300 DOLLARS buying JUST a light-weight and heavy-weight, or you could get this for only $110.00!!. Now I am based in Missouri (US), So shipping to Canada will be a little more expensive than shipping inside the US.
